Sampling into my mpc

I know this may be a noob question however I am not a noob lol I have been using the xl since 05.
I am wondering how to sample from the computer into my mpc directly.

I usually just sample vinyl or burn cds and sample off them. However I'm tired of paying for new blank cds every few weeks. I was thinking of just chopping and editing my samples in the comp first and then transferring them to my mpc via CF drive. Does anyone know a good freeware program thats great for chopping samples.

it's a stereo 1/8" to dual mono 1/4".

if i get a dual mono, is that all i need? i got an mpc 2000, im very new at this lol. how exactly do i save all my samples and everything. i have a mac, does this make a difference?
