the whole display is pretty weird. im sure if someone is clever enough to work from the schematic you can see which connection does what. its just finiding a display of similar characteristics and working backwards. theres a few i think are hackable but time is thin round here. Good luck envisionelec, ill be buying a display when you work it out.

Really? Your chips have logos on them? The chips aren't made by seiko/epson, so I'm wondering what you're seeing...

We can't go by the schematic; it is much too generic. The whole board had to be reverse engineered just to get the manufacturer. Another step was taken to verify this manufacturer with 100% accuracy. We then put it to the test by powering up and putting patterns on the display apart from the mpc. That's the video.

We've found a suitable replacement display. It will be a few more weeks until we have the displays in-hand with code written to communicate with the mpc. I'll keep the updates coming.

Hey guys - don't worry your widdle headz. Keeping this thread alive has nothing to do with the outcome. Our screens arrive tomorrow. After a bit of proggz, we'll have another video for you shortly. :)

After the vid, there will be a few more weeks of waiting while we design and layout a custom interface board. Then, the displays will have to be beta tested. We'll keep in touch. Later!

Each display can be any color and either positive (black text on color background) or negative (color text on dark background). You select the mode and color.

Cheers!

Korg,

I had that same thought B/C the 3000 has a VGA out. I thought there might be a VGA mod if the hardware is similar at all b/t the 2000 and 3000.

I'm impatiently waiting for these LCD's, and I really appreciate the effort to everyone involved. I might buy multiple screens!

:D
