It's very likely that you can use it.

It's not the same as a card reader though, it's a lot more like having 1000 floppies in the drive at one time. You still have to 'swap floppies' with a little button on the machine.

Still, probably better than nothing. Did you know they make an SD card one as well? That sounds like a better idea to me, so you don't have to be tethered to another device/computer.

Yes you should be able to use one in theory.

The advantages would be:

Not using floppy disks anymore
More reliable storage on the memory card
Being able to store 100X floppys worth of data onto one memory card
And the transfer of samples from PC to memory card would be much easier.

If that sounds good go for it.
