well it looks black... no I have never seen an LE in person. They are not commonly seen in these parts... we have mostly 2000xl and 1000 peeps here... the occasional 500 user. Also, we dont have any shops that sell second hand MPCs.

Oh man.. this thread still going...

Once you go black, you never go back... that's what she said.. lol :D

No, in all seriousness.. the 5K is great, just try it.
Anyway all MPC's have their place and no frontin needed by anyone. We love working with hard-mf'in-ware drum sampling machines, that's why we're here.

1. Why try to say that people that don't like the 5000 don't know how to use it. If I can use a 60, 3000 or 4000; I can use a 5000! That's something a newby would say.
2. If the 5000 is so great, why do you need a Gaia? The 5000 is the biggest joke in musical history.
3. 5000 users have posted more bugs than any other MPC users group. Y'all are really hoping and wishing NuAkai fixes the 5000. Everyone who bought the 5000 are just NuAkai BETA test dummies!

So people either love the 5000 or hate it, huh? I have never used the 5000 at any great length, but it sure looks good on paper. And those that love it - really love it. If i ever find an awesome deal on one, I would buy it and hold on to it.

"biggest joke in musical history"

So harsh so funny... my 5k serves me very well. we sometimes put too much stock in gear and not enough attention on the operator. true there were obviously some issues in at first but i for one never experienced that stuff. the 5k is my joint. but thats just me my lil humble opinion. i personally think it just like anything else... unhappy people complain, happy people dont. that said. happy 5k users certainly exist. they just be in the lab bangin out joints ... simple "talkers dont do and doers dont talk"

1. Actually I have owned all those units you speak about and they have a different architecture, different features. Youll be surprised about how many people ask where is the mono or poly mode on this mpc model? I am still trying to master/experiment with the strength and window function in the sequencer. Sorry, but youre number 2 point screams newbie!!!!!

2. Wild guess.........different features, sound, a keyboard attached.........
Biggest joke???? bugs, hype, websites, and overeacting dont blend well. Actually after the 4000 beta test mode(That was a headache, but at least they updated more often) I told myself to wait on the 5000 to get sorted out.

3. My experience with the 4000 gave me the most headaches. What ever happened to Feline? He used to complain alot but he was on point. We are hoping for the remainder of things to get sorted out. For the most part this thing works good for me. I have only had a transfer issue between my comp and the 5000 hd. I have got the veng error on one track.

On a personal note, I think youre signature is very corny. "May the beats be with you"

I think I just figured out why you dont got any problems other users are experiencing, leaving mpc on for hours is not exactly the same as using it to make beats

Yo, I'm not a 5k hater, but the layout & how you navigate is def quite different from any of the legacy mpc's.

As a matter of fact, before this thing was crowned a 5k, it was originally packaged as a 3500.

It's just that Nukai didn't bother to keep that original tradition going. And like someone else stated in another thread, my 4k is more than likely my first/last real mpc.

Cool Idea, though I'm pretty satisfied with the current OS. But who knows what great improvements could emerge from open source development...
But the comment section on that page is full of $hit, lol.
