if it has a white lit background border around the black pixels at all times, than it's definitely an inverted white screen... is that the case as well?
You mean around the black pixels themselves or the border of the lcd? I looked at it again and it's more accurate to say it boots up at full contrast and then quickly switches to your stored setting. I didn't do the solder on the ground cables so that's probably why I see the max contrast boot up.
Sorry I can't be more specific, I don't do the soldering and electrical DIY stuff a lot of people here do, so I can't say much about the technical side of this screen. The only other things I can say about the screen are that the backlight shines a bit bright on the left edge but not enough to bother me at all. Also the more you turn down the contrast the more purplish the text looks, on a higher contrast it looks reasonably white.
