The fact it, it mirrors too many things that a lot of people in this forum have including myself. But if I have to choose between a PC, sound card, software sampler, and MIDI controller or picking up a workstation like the Kronos...I will take the workstation every time and I have for years (Motif, Triton Studio, Fantom X/G, ASR10). I am not hesitating to replace my Fantom G with Kronos. It appears to do nearly everything the Fantom does and more.

Also, get out of here with the latency and my fault BS. Computers will always have latency.

yeah I got a few workstations... I wasn't arguing the usefulness of something like the kronos... I was merely saying it looked cool, but not something I needed or would invest my 3000 bucks on.

The exclusive to hardware features I was talking about were as I mentioned, analog components such as filters and stuff in that domain.

Again, I wasn't saying this keyboard wasn't impressive or cool or useful... I was saying it wasn't something that would fill a void in what I am doing musically at the moment.

Believe me...I got it. It is something you don't need. If that is the case, there is nothing more to discuss. But you done more than that. You implied I have no knowledge of latency. You also identified un-named software, computers, keyboard controllers than can do what Kronos can. I am just curious about the specifics of such an amazing set-up. Also, what sampling keyboard workstations are you using? Inquiring minds want to know.

As far as analog components such as "filters and stuff"...I believe we were talking about keyboard workstations and software which have digital emulations of analog. Real analog has nothing to do with this topic. Off the top, I can't think of a sampling keyboard workstation that is also an analog synth. While I am no expert, my best guess is that no company will build a sampling workstation with a real analog synth. It would be way too expensive.

You need to learn more than you think you know. This little world here that you frequent on a continuous basis is pretty much all you know. And if not, a lot of folks around here can't tell. Learn how to do something more constructive with your time other than loafing like a little b*t*h wanting to play with the other little kiddies.

no I know what you are saying... I was just being clear on what I meant by hardware exclusive features (you cant have a digital analog filter) know what I mean?

as for a good computer set up, I'm sure you have access to google. You will figure it out with some research.

and as for what workstations I am using.. currently not much due to lack of time, but I have been having fun with a 60 and an mv... but the thing is I record a lot of field recordings using things like a zoom h4 and what not.. most of the work I do is based on field recordings and odd sounds. I have sort of a system going with how I manage the sound database and what not.
