wrong file...driving me insane!!!!!

ok so i keep downloading files and everytime i add them to my mpc1000 and try to load them it says "wrong file". they are .wav files, and i've read about people saying its the wrong kind of wave file...well how do you make it the right wave file??? plz my head is ready to explode.

Check and make sure it's .wav in a data file, not audio file.

Try that.

the file says it is audio...so it needs to be a data file?? how do i do that?

Use any program that will save it as a data file. I use soundforge or nero myself. Just reload the file, then do a "save as" or however the program will allow you to save it, as long as it's in "data" format. I'm sure there's plenty of other programs other than the two I mentioned that'll work just as well.

Well, we assume the op knows that. But then again, we're in an age where taking shortcuts is the norm from what I've observed.

But I totally forgot all about that part. I'm use to loading or saving 16 or 24 bit files on a 4k and don't experience this kind of stuff.

90% of "wrong file" posts are due to the wrong wav format

the other 10% say they have the right format, but then half of those come back and admit they had it wrong. the other half probably also had it wrong but don't come back and admit it!

You know what man, I'll have to agree with you. I'll assume that most have crossed that plain. But then again, if I look at things for what they're worth, maybe I'll see the picture in a different light.

Understanding the base fundamentals of any mpc will first teach one what format it uses, how to go about using that format, and any principles associated with it.

Yeah, I kinda overlooked where I was at...in the "Getting Started" section.
