I have an HP Pavilion Lap Top, 2 years old, whats a good card to get to go with a lap top, at a good price

check m-audio at the low end... to RME-Audio higher up... does your lappy have firewire, or usb2? if not you're prolly going to have to use the cardbus slot... unless you only want to playback 2channels... it's all going to depend on what you want to do with it.

you really don't want to go too low end. I suggest a m-audio firewire. Don't get the USB, get the fire wire. With that the lantency will be low and it has midi inputs and you can record

they have a really good newsgroup too... very informative. I use a multiface with the pci card on my studio computer then with the cardbus card on laptop... great converters, low latency... and very stable... they know how to write their drivers...

if you go with a firewire based interface, be careful about compatibility... some firewire controllers have some major issues with audio interfaces.
