Have you guys seen the spark video they released today, JESUS CHRIST

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vla5N6PU ... _embedded#!

In that 2 min 44 secs she could be ironing my shirts, cooking me more than what appears to be a god damn McMuffin and she'd still have time to take her clothes off. Although she looks like a bit of a witch really.
Music production hardware for the IPod generation, who have to have everything laid on for them. What ever happened to building a studio and adapting equipment, that's half the fun of making music.

Yes it is so I hope we can actually get back to the topic and not hear about your tips-n-tricks and work-arounds. Now that OS 1.6 is available for Maschine...let's really get into this debate.

Only you would create a thread to argue with yourself  Don't be mad because I can afford Kronos and you can't (way off topic).

Back to Maschine....so far I am impressed with OS 1.6 but only had a few hours to work with it. More to come....

I can somewhat agree with you. Blue Haze created this thread to brag about his new purchase and how it compared to an MPC 4000. But since he felt a need to justify his purchase, he stayed neutral in the debate knowing full well Maschine is not on the same level as an MPC 4000. Even with VST hosting, Maschine doe not surpass an MPC at what it does best which is sampling, sample editing, and sequencing. Maschine only has the potential to surpass an MPC one day. There are numerous MPC/Ex-MPC users at the NI Forum that will tell you the same.

I was just joking, but yeah, that is exactly what i think.
I think the mashine has it's place but it shouldn't be compared with the 4000. At the end of the day, it's just software and a fancy USB/midi controller

Maschine's controller is adequate for the job. But I wish it was a little more robust as I am a hardware fanatic. All the leading companies put very little into the design of their controllers. My vision for Maschine would be to improve it to a point where you can operate all aspects of the software without turning on the computer monitor.

And I do. I have 2 MPCs. I will most likely always have an MPC unless something comes out that is more enjoyable to use and gives me the options I long for....which is to simply to install Akai's MPC (insert your favorite version here) software on a PC/Mac..operated by hardware control surface (nearly indentical to MPC 4000 or 5000)...hardware connected to PC/Mac via ethernet, firewire, USB 2.0, etc

Buy a touch screen monitor for your computer, load aksys up. Voila, instant tactile controls for your hardware.
I personally love Aksys, for all it's faults, it does what i need it to.
