Yah that's the method I've been using for a while. Just create the sequences, one or two with all the tracks, then just keep copying those over until you've come up with a song. Very tedious sometimes, but I finally just figured out how to keep it organized. Also, it helps if you name the sequences and what part they play in the song so you don't get lost. But yah, it's about the cleanest sound I think you can get out of the MPC without having the analog outs into the computer. I don't have a good sound card so I just tend to stay away from recording to the computer like that.

If you still want the sound card, this one seems inexpensive and very useful.

Good luck. It's a pretty slow process and you can't record track mutes, but that just makes the beat more original if you kick something IMO. In my experience, it creates the best sound however, and you can probably even further master from within Logic.

He said he has a Mac not a PC, that sound-card will not work.

If using analog output to record to DAW, be sure to adjust your sound-cards record input to the proper level. You might want to adjust the MPC master level also MODE/OTHER/Master Level. My MPC Master Level is set to -6dB

When I want to dump to DAW, I record each track in the MPC one by one.
Solo the track, go to record mode, play sequence while recording. Do this for each track in the sequence, trim and create separate loops of each track.. Then dump all loops to DAW with CF.

Or, MIDI MPC to DAW, and Logic will play along with the beat on the MPC. Then record the synths into MPC.
