since I got my 4000, i have no need to sample from any source besides vinyl. i don't refuse to use other sources, i have close to 3,000 records so why would i. YABBA-DABBA-DOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I was using the internet, cds, sound packs, etc. before I got the 4000.

I don't know if it's the sampler or the turntable preamp, but after sampling vinyl in the 4000, there's just no need to look elsewhere for samples. I get excellent results, it's like that machine was made for vinyl. I know a lot of cats are using computer programs to chop and edit their samples and after that then they dump their sample(s) into the MPC, all that is unnecessary with the 4000. It made sampling vinyl a lot less tedious for me, I don't have to fluck around with EQ a million times, trial and error type BS. The clarity and power is unparallel to any other machine I've used. I actually recreated a beat 9th wonder did off a Teddy Pendergrass sample and 9th is a genius, but my sample sounded SO much better than his did. I couldn't believe it. MPC4000!

i made an awesome beat with a vinyl i bought for £2 in saint catherines hospice a little while back. saw it in london for £10 after, felt like i had - for once - done something right!

i have a local charity shop that sells vinyls for... wait for it... £0.10!!! i usually snag the whole shelf every weekend....

just bought a testament vinyl on my lunch break.

my current album uses vinyl only samples (no vst synths, no real instruments etc) ... its not right or wrong... but its an aesthetic choice like a sculptor who chooses marble, (or discarded bits and pieces!). The limitations and the craft of it can be enjoyable.

ive started work on new things: sampling, using vsts , playing instruments, & (I work at a music college which is helpful! and I also play guitar,bass, drums & a little keys).

to be honest dont really have the taste for sampling cd or mp3 though ... again its an enjoyment factor for me.
