mpc 2000xl and iomega zip 100?

wadap people!

I bought a mpc 2000xl a wile ago with a floppy disk.
That didnt get me anywere so i bought a Iomega zip 100 + the correct scsi cable.
Now i got another problem.. how to connect the mpc 2000xl with zip 100

can anybody explain what to do?

Should be a 'scsi ID' switch on the drive, set this to 5. If there's a termination switch, set this to 'ON'.

Switch on the MPC, it should recognise it after a few seconds. If it doesn't, manually select SCSI 5 as the drive in your MPC - what happens?

BTW, in that picture of yours, I think I see a printer icon above the port? If so, I doubt that is a SCSI drive, most likely a parallel port drive, and that isn't compatible with any MPC. Make sure it's a SCSI drive - I believe all SCSI drives have an ID switch, although not all have a termination switch.

that's the problem.. i dont have a switch on the zipdrive
i'm gonna buy a zip 250 i think that will solve the problem

No, not really. An actual SCSI Zip drive will solve your current problem (which any 250 may or may not be).

That's not a SCSI zip drive in the picture.
