Hello.

I would like some help here....
Thanks in advance!!!

I am not sure if this is a "normal" thing that happens with 2500, or if mine is broken...
When I use any one of the Q-Link controllers to manipulate LEVEL and PAN, I get this horrible digital distortion.

Please read this...
This is how the "problem" can be emerged.

1) I assign a pad to any one of the 4 Q-Link controllers. (A sample should be long, not a short single drum shot etc.)
2) I assign the Q-Link controller to manipulate LEVEL or PAN.
3) I select REAL TIME
4) I keep hitting the pad as I slide up and down one of the controllers (or left and right on a knob).
5) I hear the affected sound, but I also hear this horrible digital distortion!

Does your 2500 do this???

Thanks again!!!!

I forgot to mention that this only seem to happen only when I am manipulate LEVEL and PAN.
The longer a sample, the noise is more easy to notice.
This might be "normal" characteristic of the 2500, but I am not sure.
Has anyone notice this before, or is my 2500 having some issues???

Thanks!

Problem "solved"!!!!

I called the technical service in Yokohama Japan (with Skype) and asked the tech support last night.
Since I speak Japanese, I figured that I should call the main headquarter.
The guy I spoke to was super helpful. He said he will test it and just replied me with an email this morning.

He tested with a few 2500 and also with 1000s.

This is the tech's reply. (Translation by me)

1) Loaded about 10 seconds of sine wave to PAD1.
2) Set Q1 to PAN and set the Change to REAL TIME.
3) As hitting the PAD1, moved the Q1 slider up and down
4)CONCLUSION... I have confirmed that there is some noise on top of the sine wave.
We have tested with a few 2500s and 1000s and same issue was recreated. At this time, we have no corrective bug fix resolution. We also have not confirmed whether this is caused from hardware or software problem. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please let us know if you we can help you further with any other issues.

Ok.... so clearly, this is a "normal" characteristic of the 2500 and 1000, but I did sent a reply and asked if they are planning to fix this bug or not. I will keep you guys posted on this.

Also, I did notice that not all samples would cause the noise to surface.
Long samples that are in lower frequencies seem to generate this problem more than the higher frequencies.
For example, long bass guitar tone, sine wave etc.....
Short drum hits would not create this problem.

Thanks everyone for taking your interest on this subject....
I'm kind of feeling relieved that my MPC is not broken.
:D
