Exactly how much does one need to detune a sped up record (1. a 33rpm record sped up to 45rpm and +8. and also 2. a 45rpm 7" record sped up +8) to make it exactly the same speed as the original recording on an MPC (MPC 60 in my case)? (I already did lots of research but can't seem to find that magic "perfect" number/value of detune)
There has to be an exact "number", but I have yet to find the number...to detune a sped up vinyl exactly back to original speed and pitch.
I am new at producing, but so far I've just been doing it by ear and tempo. and I have found that:
1.) An originally played 33rpm 12" sped up at 45rpm and +8 needs detuning of: about -67 to -72 on my MPC 60, though I don't know exactly which number/value is the perfect one.
2.) An originally played 45rpm 7" sped up only +8 (since already on 45rpm) needs detuning of: I haven't sampled or tested any 45s/7"ers yet.
..there gotta be a simple number, since all the speeds are relative. ie: original 33rpm vs it sped up 45rpm & +8 and also a 7" sped up +8 ...I would think it would always be the same number/value of detune, of course if the turntable is perfectly calibrated.
Any insight appreciated.
...just trying to get my samples in perfect tuning and know exactly what key it's in, etc...
