Difference between Mackie1604vlz and the Mackie1604vlz Pro?

id like to know if anyone knows of all the differences between the 1604vlz, and the 1604vlz pro... ive checked the mackie site and i can only find info on the 1604vlz pro, not the regular 1604vlz, so im assuming that the 1604vlz(not pro) is an older model? what is the differences????

i have been thinking about buying a 1604vlz(not pro) from some guy online... he is saying that the only difference is the pre amps... he also claims that he got the 1604vlz(not pro) pre amps modified! so he says with the modification that the 1604vlz(not pro) is essentially the same as the 1604vlz pro since the mic pres have been modified... does this sound right? is this possible to mod the pre amps in a Mackie 1604vlz(again, not pro) so that it is exactly the same as the 1604vlz pro??? ive been looking for a mixer for a while now and this seems like a good deal to me... i just need to know the differences between the two models(not pro, vs pro)...
any info or any links with info would be greatly appreciated...

well first of all , the only difference between the two are the quality of the mic pres. now depending who had mod the pres, and i n what way they were modded, i think i woulda leave tht out still. it may sound good, but you got to get the full history. if its a sloppy job, you could actually be inducing more noise,
persoanlly i would go with the pro.

the guy with the mixer actually gave me the serial number of the mixer and the name and number of the guy and shop that did the modification...
so im going to call tomorrow and talk to him and confirm what type of modification he installed... the guy who now owns the mixer said that he paid over $400 for the modification to be done...

im just being a bit cautious here... the guy with the mixer is agreeing to trade his modified Mackie 1604vlz for a Roland sp808!!!

he also claims that the mixer is still under warrantee for another year...

well, i guess imma meet up with this guy and do the trade this weekend...

he gave me the serial number of the machine and the work order number for the mod that was performed...

so ill talk to the technician who performed the modification tomorrow, i already talked to him once and when i told him the serial number of the machine he said that the number i gave him refers to a 1604vlz PRO...
he said he couldnt tell me what was done to it until i got him the work order number... i got the work order number now and ill see what he says was done to it...

anyone heard of WESTLAKE AUDIO? its in LA, thats where the modification was done...
