NEED HELPS HOOKING ALL THIS UP...It's not working!

Trying to record from mpc 2500 to logic 8. And it's just not working ... please someone HELP!

Asking questions via Youtube is kind of nice...props.

First off, one step at a time...so forget MIDI, forget SYNC.

You need to take your AUDIO OUTS of your MPC (start easy, use the main outs), and plug them into your iMac audio input.

The most basic, basic, and lo-fi way would be to get a cable that goes two 1/4" plugs to one 1/8" plug (2 big to 1 small), plug the big ones into your mpc outs, and the little one into the back of your iMac, the Microphone/line in.

That will get you somewhere...but is that an audio interface I see in your vid? If so, USE THAT.

I don't know what the inputs on it are, but simply match the MPC audio outs to the interface audio ins.

That's it as far as cabling goes.

Now make sure Logic is set up in the preferences to use that audio interface, create a new audio track, and then choose the correct input (should be labeled on your audio interface).

Hit record in logic (turn off the metronome), then hit play on your MPC.

When you've got that mastered, you can move on to SYNCing via MIDI which would be your interface MIDI OUT to your MPC MIDI IN, and setting Logic up to transmit Midi Time Code (MTC) and your MPC to receive it.

I agree. It gives us a look at what you have and makes it easy to work with you.

Anyways, you have a Presonus Firebox and an MPC 2500. Connect 4 (or however many you have) individual outputs into the 4 inputs of the Firebox (2 on the front, 2 on the back). This is feeding your interface (and your computer eventually) audio from the MPC.

Then hook up the Firebox to the iMac via the firewire cable. I do not use Logic, so I can't tell you how to configure Logic to receive audio. If it's anything like Pro Tools, you have to insert an auxiliary track and set the input from the Firebox.

For MIDI, connect 1 output of the MPC to the input of the Firebox, and 1 input of the MPC to the output of the Firebox. This will let the 2 communicate. Again, I don't use Logic so I can't help you configure MIDI in Logic. Once you get MIDI set up in Logic, you will have to go into the MPC MIDI screen and set 'sync in' to 'slave' so that your tracks line up when you track them out. I prefer to slave the MPC to the software because there is a delay in my system when I slave software to hardware. I don't get any delay if the MPC is the slave.

Hopefully someone will come along and help you with Logic.

Ok this is what I have so far. Two audio outs from MPC to audio in of Presonus Firebox. Two outs from Presonus Firebox to mixer and from mixer to microphone line in of iMac. Still not doing what I need for it to do. Still not recording..... I have midi cords also, should I hook those up, if so how? I am so confused.

In my first post I said forget about midi. So no. Don't hook them up.

If that is truly all you have, then no, that will not work. The Mixer->iMac connection is totally unnecessary, undo that immediately.
Also, you didn't mention that you have the Firebox connected to the iMac via a firewire cable. You have to connect the firebox to the computer.

Like I said in another post, make sure you use balanced stereo cables gooing into the firebox. Unbalanced cables will give you a small amount of static, and possibly interference. Always use balanced cables on bus powered(non grounded) boxes.
