sorry for the OT...
yes, true. i got the first stereo UK pressing of the white album (aka the beatles) N. 0464480 and it sounds very good, but never compared to the mono uk pressing
also got the 3rd or 4rth mono US pressing of "meet the beatles" (which sounds really good)
the two records are scratched as hell, but i love to hear clicks and pops... especially on this 2

Agreed, but there weren't many releases which were MONO ONLY in one country and STEREO ONLY in another.
It was STEREO ONLY in the US and most fans agree the UK MONO versions sounded much better. That is why they fetch more on the s/h market than the American pressings.
