Elmacaco put me on to Burial a few years ago. Definitely good music to chill out to. 8)

Here in the UK, he is HUGELY respected, maybe not commercially, but those who know their music know about Burial.


His music is amazing. I read an interview with Kieran aka Four Tet and he mentioned that he uses only Soundforge too. The Burial really knows how to build great tracks.

Four Tet mentioned that he himself uses only Soundforge or that Burial does? I'm sure that you can see how I may be reading that either way. I'm curious because if it's the prior, referring to himself, he was taking the piss.

in The Wire interview Burial said that only uses soundforge to record all his tracks.
don't know how it does this thing, but it's cool!
also the cut-up vocals technique is great

I know Burial has said that, I was just wondering if Four Tet claimed he does also. I haven't read the Burial interview though.

yeah i agree. though i do think it is dope that he does it that way, without a sequencer. it's just how he learned and did it for years and years and became a god at it.

Yeah, it is irrelevant actually. I assume you meant someone else but to clarify why I'm asking. My point was more that if it was Four Tet who made the claim for himself that he's lying or just started because he stated using both Live and Pro Tools in previous publications. I was just wondering why he'd lie like that but I think I just misread what switch18 posted. I wasn't really interested in what Burial claimed.

Yeah I know mate, there's just so much focus on his use of Soundforge... it's like an urban myth that may or may not be true. Either way the guy is uber-talented. 8)
