hi there,
anybody has some experience with using a MPC connected to
an laptop using ableton LIVE?
i´m looking for a good setup for playing live. i thought the ableton
software could be the best for me to "extend" the small RAM of my MPC.
i hate to load new programs and samples on stage. so, i thought
this could be the best way...triggering longer samples with my MPC,
which are actually played by the laptop/ableton live.
anybody got an idea?

or would you recomend reason?

thanx

Ableton is a great program for playing live (as you might have guessed by the name).
However, it does not have any midi functions besides syncing. This means you won't be able to "trigger samples" from your mpc as you would do using a normal sampler. You can use it live with an mpc, but if you just want to extend your sampletime you might be better of with another program.
You could try downloading a demo to see if you like it. http://www.ableton.de/index.php?main=downloads
