2000XL won't read my SD card

Help! I just got my 2000XL last week, and am DYING to start. But, it won't read my SD card. I read some other forums that said you can't use an SD card with more than 2GB, so I bought 2. But it still doesn't read them. What do I do? I can't format because when I select F-Rom, it says "no F-Rom!" What's goin on?

It's not F-rom. It's either atapi or scsi, depending on which you have installed.

As for what the actual problem is, it could be a thousand things....from using the wrong reader to using the wrong card to using the wrong os to having a loose connection etc etc etc.
