Need a bit of advice getting started

Hey folks,

Just starting this music production thing and was looking for a bit of advice with what midi controller and keyboard to get. I'm using reason 5 at the minute and was looking for something cheap and cheerful, was looking at the akai lpk25 & the lpd8, just wondering if these products are worth getting and compatible with my software

I think u shud get a midi controller with 49 keys at least... ... bout the lpd.. i got it but i dont use it anymore since i got an mpc .. but still a funny thing do...

a 25 key midi controller will work if you dont really play piano, but i think it will hold you back if you actually know how to play.

i would go with an m-audio axiom 25 or axiom 49, they have keys to play and drum pads to bang on aswell, you wont have to buy 2 things.

although it would be funner to get an mpd for the pads just because of they layout of them imo.

Yea man I like the Axiom 25 and support it. I got mine before the MPC
