Saving samples to Sample list

My samples are not saving into my sample list or program, so every time i turn off the mp i have to start from scratch...What am i doing wrong?? thanks in advance

What are you saying??? Anything you load into RAM will be erased when you power down the machine.

I understand that, and to the best of my understanding I followed the manual step for step...can u explain in a couple of bullets how you do it?

let me better explain, the samples are saved to the mp still when i turn it off, but when i turn it back on they are only in the mpc disk area so i have to re-apply them to pads and a program.

Think computer, filing system & folders, saving a program, and there lies your answer.

You are computer literate right?

That's kinda like saying, I made a document in Microsoft Word including pictures etc.. turned the PC off without saving it then when i switched it back on how comes my work isn't there?

If you have laid out samples how you want them, maybe made some tracks and a sequence too, then press the save button located on the numbers keypad, create a new folder where ever you want to save work. I have mine structured kinda like:

MPC4000 H/Drive>Songs
>Drums
>Vocals
>Multis
>Programs

So would go into 'SONGS' folder, create a new subfolder with the same title as i want to call my work, then in that folder do a 'SAVE ENTIRE MEMORY'. This will then save your chopped samples, your programs, track/sequences and Multis all in one place, so to get it back you just find the folder you created whilst you're in the 'LOAD' page, also found on the key pad, click 'Do-It' and it will load everything back to how you had it when you saved.

Basically it's the difference between having your files in RAM=temporary or saved on the HDD=permanant save.

Then if you want hose same files to open automatically when you boot up your MPC that's a different story:
