Mpc 3000 King Of Mpcs Yes or No and why?

Ultimatly , i have never used a 3000 , but it all matters in sound , from what i hear that the 3000 has a heavy phat punch and the 2500 does not carry that !! I have the 2500 and it does the job !!!

MPC 4000! The only MPC w/ a REAL sampler. FREE TIMING so GROOVE is whatever you make it. Um, burn a CD on it. Connect it via usb and run aksys for even more options and versatility. Sample 24 bit, the 5000 can't do that. It sounds incredible. I dropped a 160GB HD in it! Plus, the built in preamp for my turntable? My vinyl sounds effing incredible sampled through the 4000. The 4000 is the last Akai MPC. Straight up, the 4000 is a motherflucking monster!

I see Havoc switched from the 3000 to the 4000.

Roland made the MV8000/8800 to try to compete with Akai MPC BECAUSE of the 4000

The King of the MPC's is the one that is in my studio when I want to make some music. There is no KING of the MPC's - as someone already said - There is only preference! It is better to spend more of your TIME making your music sound better than spending more of your MONEY!!

Ive had a 2kxl for a year now, no crashes, no jog wheel issues, also got two friends with xls that had theirs for much longer than me and they had no problems either, not sayin its king though. For straight out of the box i guess id say 3k, FROM WHAT I HEAR. Ive never used one, however i have used the 2k, 2kxl and 2500 and my favourite of the 3 is defo 2kxl just got that edge over classic and better feel than 2500 imo. 2500 just didnt seem the same although it is a lot prettier than the 2kxl

MPC3000 is not the king, we all know a Ruler is only 12 inches.

i have used all of them except the 4000 and the 500. 60 and the 60II are grimy. not quite like a sp 1200 or 12.
the 3000 was built like a tank total studio pro. the 2000is very cool quicker then the ones before. more geared to the beat maker market. the 60 and the 3000 were adopted by the hip hop crew but aimed at us. rogerlinn pulled out of the 2000 market because akai wanted to aim it at the hip hop market. the 2000 does not sound as punchy as the 3000 hard to explian but it does not. the 1000 is worth the money. its not built like a tank and lacking pro features. 2500 is a big 1000. so if the want the best sound the 3000 wins in the 16bit race.
my choice is to own 2 the 3000 the 1000 and for the 12 bit world a s950 or a 1200 witch i keep buying then selling when im broke. i hate it when i sell that damn box.

Never had one but surely the mpc60 is the king!!!!!!!!12 bits..And less is most times more.Especially in this age of over consumption.

I have to agree with what Nym stated. Some katz seem to be very elementary with this stuff. If you ask me about folks who haven't been in the game but for a hot minute, to conclude that this is where you get your signature sound...I'd say:

"Wow, now I've seen it all."

4000 has to reign supreme, its a newer updated 3000...Ive owned damn near all the MPC's...and the 4000 brought me back on the forum, I cant be mad at that, I love this website...

Each person will have a KING MPC that suits their workflow. I was mentored on a 3000, but I still love my 2500. One day soon I want to get a 3000 and a 4000 before they disappear.

The 3000 does have a good sound, but so do all of them.

the king mpcs are the ones i own. the 1000 and the 500. the sound i get outta my mpcs is the time and work i put into em. I prefer the 500 over the 1000. but the 1000s work flow is faster..so there. my answer is NO. the 3000 is not the king of mpcs. the king of mpcs is the mpc you own and use.
