Notice I used the word "normally", taste_testa. If you want to see what affects they CAN have on your LCD, go ahead, but it will be intentional and that's not the same as monitors sitting next to them. It also isn't "normally" going to happen.
LCD use solid state and unmoving cells, not "guns" spraying electrons. So them being affected by fields is theoretical, purely academic and almost contextually hypothetical. Most audio monitors are shielded, but even if they were not, it would be fairly hard to find a near or midfield monitor with a magnetic component strong enough to do any perceivable thing to an LCD, or Plasma display whilst mounted in a cabinet because manufacturers simply do not use them, if they did we'd also have damage to our hard drives resulting in loss of data. This is easy to examine simply by looking at the market. Most LCD and Plasma screens are being designed by manufacturers themselves with multiple speakers actually inside their enclosures and even if not, are often designed to literally have large surround or stereo speakers mounted ideally right around them, purpose by design.
Though you're right in theory, with modern day displays you could theoretically do more damage with the electrostatic discharge from your fingers than with audio monitors. Hence my alluding to the fact that normally it wont' happen so is thus irrelavent to the OP's question. Unless we're talking about exposing the components of your LCD to intentionally try to achieve the "Hall Effect" or some other effect, I don't think we have anything to worry about. I have 2 sets (4) of large monitors sitting next to a very large LCD, and there are no issues. Thanks for your input and good post.
