Hi all,
I would need a suggestion how to train my hands... - its too difficult for me to control my hands independently so I am nearly unable to play live on my mpc even I am training and training...
Does anybody now some good drill or know some good technique (probably for piano players) how to get more control over both of my hands??
I know it all sound silly but I really don't know whats the best way how to train it...

Thanks

I suggest learning all the drum rudiments. Then after you gain speed and hand independence... start working on finger independence. Me personally, I drum along with EVERYTHING. Even when I'm driving I tap out the drum beats one handed on my steering wheel while listenin to the radio. It's almost second nature now.

Jeremy Ellis has Youtube tutorials on his technique of finger drumming. There's a forum member I think named KingBeats or somethin like that. He has a good video on his technique.

Being that the MPC is a blank canvas and completely programmable instrument you might want to come up with your own technique/drum placements/etc. But I think learning the drum rudiments and getting those down is the best start for any drummer.

When I was very young, I broke my dominant hand so I was forced for a period of time to use the opposite hand for everything. It was a very difficult time but I think it ended up helping me out in the long term.

I'm not saying to go out and break your hand, but you need to train your brain to use your other hand. Try eating one meal a day using your opposite hand. Get into the habit of opening up doors, soda cans, brushing your teeth with your non-dominant hand. You will be very clumsy at first, though your brain will adjust in time and you will gain dexterity.

Good luck!
