MPC1000 data encoder wheel replacement: where to find??

hey my rotary encoder started to do that wierd thing where it changes all the values in the selected parameter field all by itself... looks like its life is over...anybody know where to get a new one? people seem to be out of stock everywhere. maybe there's a substitute part that can be used if the original is "out of print" ?

find the mitsubishi rotary encoder data sheet
go on to mouser livechat
ask them to find a rotary encoder with similar properties that would work in this application.
unfortunately the pin layout may be different. that's where i come in, i may order a round of rotary encoders that would work and just mod them in there.

yeah was hopin to find something i could just solder in ....

i'd be interested in seeing a modification or hearing about a successful one

i'm probably not gonna do this til my rotary encoder goes bad
even though the logical thing to do would be to find a replacement and have it on hand.
if someone wants to find an alternative, though, i'll order a couple and work out a mod for my supermod 1000 which i'm thinking about starting up again.

MPC stuff and vst both have right pcb boards in stock that have a metal rotary encoder upgrade for about 60 bucks.
