If your not allowed to use samples unless u get them cleared how is it possible for DJ's to make mixtapes using other peoples whole track? Also is it really hard to get samples from movies cleared? I got some real sicc samples off some older VHS i would love to use.

1 mo thing
the industry now has realized the money and the hype of mix tapes that most labels are doing their on mixtapes and selling them
so lets say u make a farewell to jay-z mixed tape wit all his old a new songs and then rocafella decides to do one and yours happens to be better and out sell theirs somebodys gonna be in trouble and it aint jay-z
