working with lack of filters on the 60

Hi,
I recently moved to the 60 from the 2000 classic. I like the sound and feel of the 60 better, but I am getting used to the trade offs. I'm wondering how other people work with the lack of filters. I've been running the 8 outs to my mixer and using 3 band eq for my filtering needs for the most part. I bought a rackmount parametric eq for experimenting with filtering on the way into the 60 when sampling. One thing that makes it more difficult is that if you want to sample in at 45rpm to maximize your sampling time, any eq you do will be altered when you pitch down - I guess it's trial and error, but I didn't know if anyone had any tips on eqing while sampling then changing the pitch.

you could use the input on the back for a moog analog filter or something like an sp303

You could set the parameters on the eq while you listen to it on 45 and not on 33
You'll get used to it after a while. You could do some lessons with a drumbreak only or a drumbreak with bassline only. For example try to accent the snare while you listen to it on 45. Then the kick and so on...

The other way is to set the EQ while listen on 33, sample it to your PC and speed it up in your DAW.

yeah I agree with the echo loop input...

plus additional filtering can be done with the 8 outs of course like mentioned... which is kind of cool because you can then maybe even take advantage of external filter LFO's and things the 2000 series filter couldn't do.

It's all trial and error. I EQ everything, and a lot of times I will stack EQs on top of EQ depending on what I'm working on.

you mean the echo thing? aux send effects usually don't work for filters/eq. great for echo/reverb though.
Good point about the 45 thing - having a goal in mind with the eqing. Using the 8 outs with a mixer is working pretty good though actually.
