Recording sequence from mpc to ableton..

I used the mpc to sequence my drums/samples from ableton and now im trying to figure out how to record the sequence into ableton - I have one drum rack with my samples on ch. 1 and then another drum rack with my drums on ch 2.

When I try to record my sequence from mp to ableton, ableton only records the drums and not the sample.. I've been poking around for a bit here and can't seem to find a solution - any suggestions?

Not sure, but here's a different way to do what u want. If you're able to export a midi file from your MP, ableton will open it up (including separate tracks) very nicely. Worked for me.

did you create audio track with appriopriate I/O settings coming ouf of mpc into your audio interface?

Each track is assigned according to it's channel on the mpc, and also ableton.

This is pretty much my first time using ableton so let me make sure the knowledge im trying to obtain will lead me to my objective - All I want to do is render my beat to .wav from ableton - but to do this I would have to record the sequences from mpc to ableton, correct?

yes in this instance ableton would become a master and mpc a slave, but if memory serves me right in mpc you route individual pads to mixer outputs and not the tracks...so depending if you wanna record all samples independantly or on the same track you would set it up accordingly...so lets say you have samples on pads 1,2,3,4 and you routed them in mpc output mixer to output 1&2. at this point you create audio track in ableton with corresponding input settings. not sure what channel you recieve mpc's 1&2 outputs on your audio interface 7&8..

Give me a list of what equipment you're working with and all s/w (pertaining to music of course), and I'm sure someone will come up with a solution.

It sounds like you could maybe arm another stereo track in ableton and record your entire seq there which is what I'm kinda picking up within this discussion.

I do it for scrub mixes and whatnot sometimes. Easier to figure out what needs what before committing to mixing & mastering the track.

Nah not until later this month but I think I finally figured out

Edit: well I know its right under my nose and I'm not just seeing it because I reopened ableton project because I wanted to see something and now its recording the Ch 1 samples but not the Ch 2

Dig in the audio properties and see how your I/O settings are looking.

It could be you're setup for mono recording. Check to see if you can select a stereo input/track or something.

omg im so stupid i figured it out i wasnt arming the specific tracks in ableton to record DUHHHHHHHHH

glad you got it sorted it out...i made similar mistake when I first started making beats and was trying record something to cubase sx
