I'm hating on Araab....hate to play dude in boxing or running video games.....

In everything you will have those that will look down or those that just don't care lol. His skill is legit. His attitude is what it is. Confidence is a good thing and you must have it in all things... his is just outward.

Also I wonder what made him put the headphones on........ probably to drown out the crowd. 8th hype crew did there job but as others said... He played his beats... they were cool also.

Arab, is a drummer first! Albeit not a great one... DO NOT FORGET THAT! He has an advantage over the general MPC populance.
Playing drums well is hard. I tried. I'm barely able to play AMEN on a trap set. All his beats sound the same due to the fact that he knows how to play 1 drum break over and over quickly with different samples.

I can't do it, so I won't hate the kid.

as an outsider every araab video looks and sounds exactly the same to me. I could get flamed for this, but i really dont think it would take much to get really good at hitting pads so fast, especially only a few pads like i see in most araabs videos.

No flames here. Others earlier said much the same as yourself.

Pick up any music theory book dedicated to a specific instrument. One of the first things they'll tell a new learner is don't practice playing fast. Practice as slow as you can, they way you'll learn how to play notes with legato & soul. You can hit 16ths, 24ths & 32nds all day, but if you can't play a half bar note right you've got no soul.

All of Aarab's pads are monophonic one shots. I'd love to hear him use gated samples that play until you release the pad, that would show if he has soul or not. That shows understanding of note lenghts and note placement. Thatt's like Steve Vai verse any old bluesman. Totally different ballgame.

That said, he is good at button mashing. I'd hate to battle him on any sampler, just as much as I'd hate to verse him at Tekken or Street Fighter.
