Match Up

Hi,

I was wonderin' how yáll guys match up different samples from different records like Marco Polo does.
Likewise when i do it, the tones are mostly false in comparison with the other tones of samples i used.

When the tone is right, the pitch fails?

Browsed many pages, didnt help, almost strugglin with this problem for over an half year now

HUH ?? What do you mean by tone? you mean timbre as tone denotes pitch to me. So obviously if pitch is incorrect you should pitch correct sample then use filters to alter tone

do whatever works to make it sound good!

mix match is the way to go

i think Nav is referring to the sample tuning, right?
time stretch or use a software before sample the sound in the mpc to change sample key-note someone in a recent thread about time stretching is talking about Melodyne which i've never tried but i've heard it is good

Yeah, melodyne is pretty cool if you need to alter samples. But if you've got the editor version, you supposingly can manipulate chord structures and eliminate components within the audio too.

o yeah i see what he means - I do not use computer cos i got a MPC so i never think about computers. Though i have played with melodyne and its good but i see it as more a pitch correction tool for singers and the like. So obviously it would suite sample pitch shifting well.
