Question on use of MPC's

Hi all, I am looking for a proper alternative to Ableton to play live gigs. We currently use Ableton to send patch changes to external hardware and sometimes send midi notes as well (sequencing). We also use Ableton to play some audio loops. Can the MPC do all this instead of Ableton? I am not so happy with the Midi sync on Ableton.
