how to assign certin sounds to specific pads ! help please

hey guys just picked up the MPC500 i cant figure this thing out for the life of me ... i really would love to know how to put single sounds on what ever pad i choose .. example i have 12 pads i would like to put 4 bass 4 snare 4 hat .... how do i go about this ? thanks

The MPC 500 is a sampler, meaning that it can record sounds via the inputs in the back. You just hook up something like an iPod or whatever, computer line-out, turntable and the likes, and go into record mode via Mode Button -> Pad 5. Also, you can load sounds onto a compact flash card via USB, or use a program like MPC Maid to create a program, then upload it onto the MPC with the USB cord from computer in the back of the MPC. If using MPC Maid, you can go to export all in the file menu after you created the program, and load it straight onto the MPC. Next, you're gonna hit Mode -> Pad 2 and scroll to where you placed the program, and load it.
