I have been through the forums and have tried some of the techniques on MPC-Forums but can not seem to get my setup to work how I want. Ideally I want to use the MPC 1000 as a master and use Logic, Reason, Pro Tools, etc. sound modules. However after reading I find that Logic does not like acting as the slave to the MPC. So I am thinking I wanna work with reason as the slave producing sounds and sequencing in the MPC or even vice versa at times. My setup is as follows and I have also produced a diagram of the signal flow I have going on here and settings in the AMS Mac OS and reason prefrences.

I have also read in the manual sync as master and slave.....

Setup:
* Mbox Mini connected via USB to iMac
* JBL Monitors connected to Mbox Mini
* Edirol PCR-M50 MIDI controller connected via USB to iMac
> MIDI OUT of Edirol to MIDI 1 IN MPC 1000
> MIDI IN of Edirol to MIDI OUT A MPC 1000
*MPC 1000
> Stereo Out 1-2 to Mbox Line/DI Input 2 Line/DI

Again I am looking for help to run MPC as master and Reason as the slave.

Also I know the steps in the MPC are changing Type: Drum to MIDI and MIDI to say 1A if your NXT or whatever it may be on the MIDI 1A Channel in reason....

Please help thanks...

try selecting your edirol in that preferences for midi clock sync setting in reason.............

alkso in the one droip down menu in reason selting external sync......

you also have to select the device in the midi drop down in the reason rack (just below audio channels).......

if your running logic 8........i dont think version 8 can act as a slave.........
