MPC1000 to playback 3min WAV files?

Hi, I just got an MPC1000 to use it to playback some sequences (wav files) that I have. They are songs that I used to play from a computer but now I want to use the MPC as my playback device. I want to recreate the whole sequence eventually actually programing in the MPC, but for now it would be great if I could just play the bounced WAV files that I use. They are full songs so they are aprox 4min in length. I uploaded the files into my memory card via USB, but when I try to load them it says "Insufficient Memory."
Wouldnt it play my files because they are too big? Am I gonna be able to use the MPC to playback such long WAV files?

How much RAM does your MPC have?

It has 16MB that came with it. I guess that is not enough to play such long files ahh?
If I upgrade it to the 128MB RAM would that allow me to play back long files (Typical song length of 4min) without a problem? I am trying to make sure this would work nicely because it is mainly for using it in live shows.

One more quick question. DO you know if there is a way to send the CLICK to the main out ST (headphones) and the sequence to the outputs 1-2 AND ST outs so that I can send the music out to the house but also be able to hear it on my headphones along with the click?

A minute of audio in stereo (at 16 bit 44.1khz) is roughly 10mb. That means 16mb can hold about 1.5 minutes of stereo audio (or 3 minutes in mono). If you upgrade to 128mb, your MPC can hold roughly 12 minutes in stereo or 24 minutes in mono.

So at 3 minutes a pop, you can load about four tracks in stereo or 8 if they're mono. At four minutes per, you're looking at 3 (stereo) or 6 (mono).

There's a sticky post that has the RAM specs you need.

If you put your wav files into a program and make a copy of the program, you can set each program to different outputs. This also doubles the polyphony you use.

Gotcha, so if I upgrade my RAM to 128MB i can load lets say 3 songs at 16/24 at a time. After playing those 3 songs, i gotta go back and load another folder with the other set of 3 songs...and so on...correct? that would be the way to play lets say an hour set.

I guess the MPC is not really design as a play back device...I am gonna have to wait and reprogram all my sequences in the MPC so that I can easily move from song to song...

I wish the click track had a few more options as far as routing and its sound and accent...it seems so heavy that it hurts on my ears after a while. Do you know if there is any hidden options for it?

I have upgraded to 128GB of RAM and still get "insufficient memory"... it , allows me to load more songs than the 16GB of Ram previously... but I still get this error... when chopping... What's the max you can load into the Internal Memory?

If you're gonna load a beat onto your MPC.. Break your beat down to bars & sequence them out, then you can loop em. No point in having a 4 min beat on there.. MPCs aren't made for that.
