Problem overdubing

Hello!
I dont know it that term is correct (overdubing, lol) but anyway, I have a problem
I am really noob and can be a so silly problem, but when I'm overdubing some drums I have done the new sounds replace the others.
Its like making a kick and snare and if I overdub them with a hit hat in the snare the snare doesn't sound. Really weird
Any suggestion?

ok,i'm having the same issue...my percussion that's cutting out is on it's own track & in it's own program..i've had mpc's for over ten years & never had this problem...i first noticed it happening when i was layering samples then later noticed cymbal crashes cutting out hats etc....& a major issue i've been having not sure if it is related is when playing a beat back every now & then it seems as if one of the tracks just loses a side & plays through one speaker 4 a quick second & comes back.I really like this mp & not sure if these are issues with the 1000 or the jjos.

check the voice monitor, see if you're using all 32 voices:

Yo,Muppets good lookin' out...i've kinda figured it was a problem with too many samples (voices) playing at once & the mpc having to cut something to compensate..too bad all i have is the free jjos installed...checked when i was at the studio & noticed my screen doesn't have as many options as the page you put the link to..is there another way to check for that setting on the free version or was that in an update & i'm screwed?.

but you've figure out that's what it was anyway. so ... trim your samples to avoid silence at the end (which uses up a voice while that silence is playing even though you can't hear anything). don't use stereo samples if mono would do. set some samples to MONO not POLY if you don't need them to overlap (e.g. for closed hihats) ... search the forum, the explanation of your problem has been given hundreds of times and so have the solutions

I rock wit the 1000 cuz of the way the mono samples work better than the 2000xl,like the way all the pads cut each other off instead of having to go thru settings to set which pad cuts off the other...but crazy thing i noticed yesterday,just got the beats studio headphones & while using them with the 1000 for the first time,i noticed i could hear a click when i turned on the mixer that's plugged into my rec input,while still on the main screen,so i turned on the 1200 & could hear the record playing low on the main screen.i switched back to my sony headphones & i could still hear it but super low.

set the input to analog in the record screen. or go to the input thru screen, turn it on, and set the source to analog

thatnx 4 the idea...i went & checked it's already set to analog..i couldn't find any input thru screen tho..is it a jjos only screen?..i would say it sounds like a common problem wit old gemini mixers where the ch.1 & ch.2 eventually just start to leak thru to each other no matter where the fader is..& i think i got the old pads too....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
