http://www.korg.com/monotron

copped one of these off ebay last week for $60 brand new. never heard of it until i got one but i figured 60 for a analog synth made by korg y not.

its small as hell and runs on 2 batterys. so far i like it for what its worth and its fun to play with and its got a speaker. shits like a toy for beat makers. no midi so i just fux wit the knobs and sample the sounds into my mpc. thinkin about running some sounds into nuendo, freakin em a lil bit and run em back into the mp thru usb.

a lot of guys were coppin it because of the low pass filter, its an original old school they had left over from back in the day that they put in there

^^^ good shit. my needle is broke so ive been sampling from cd's so i guess i can run it thru that and see wht it do. all that modding seems a lil too much for a $60 synth. the midi shit is cool but it still isnt multi timbre which means your gonna have to sample additional sounds anyway. never heard of the gakken sx150. that shit looks beasty.

just did mine yesterday.
works really nice.
i also bypassed that awful headphone amp (it's better but still noisy)
i get some huge sounding sub bass with that stuff.
adding midi turn this useless toy into really nice synth
now i'm gonna make a good power supply, add cv inputs, make an enclosure and try to find a way to tweak the LFO/EG

easy, what do you get with the kit? What additional things will i need to buy for midi kit? Does it work at correct pitch over all octaves? Also how have you gone about housing the resulting added components!

you can buy parts, Pre-programed CPU and pcb separately (the only things you need to find are the glide pot and the din connector)

Does it work at correct pitch over all octaves?

that's what the blue trimpot on the monotron is for
