Good day dear mpc forums crowd,

Glad to be back, i've had an account here for long time ago, but lost it due to deleted mail adress!
Anyways, back to business.

I just got a used mpc 4000 (i had one a few years ago) so im once more happy as hell BUT, as soon as im home,
i turned it on... and it gives me the Flash Rom Failure error, that i managed to fix with MAC, but after reading on this forum,
people say i need to use PC and not MAC for this... on PC i've tried to usb plug it and it shows that i connect mpc 4000... but it says no driver installed and i can't launch the OS updater soft!!!

I downloaded the drivers for windows, but its not letting me... it says there is no drivers... and im showing as destination where to look for one, as exactly the place where the driver file is in!!

I have Windows 7 64 Bit.

How can i solve my problem with driver?

Thanks a-lot in advance...

The last supported OS for Ak.Sys 2.53 and the MPC4000 OS updater utility were WINDOWS XP.

So, to get it to run in Windows 7, you need to run these in "Windows XP mode".

You can read about this on Microsoft's site.

However, if you OS Flash ROM is already scrambled, it may still refuse to update the OS even if you do get the utility installed on a PC...

You cannot connect the MPC4000 to your USB port until you install the driver.

You cannot install the drive in Windows 7 in the ordinary way.

You have to install the "Windows XP Mode" virtual PC environment onto your Windows 7 machine,
which as I just told you, you need to get from Microsoft.

It's not as difficult as it sounds, but you will have to read Microsoft's instructions carefully.
