This is the one I been eyeing for a lil while, I really like the black pads on this one, The only problem I think I see with this one is that the ad is not stating if it has the JJ os software...Heres the link
http://cgi.ebay.com/AKAI-MPC1000-MPC-10 ... 3f078b9200

I was also lookin at this one , Has the JJ os and also comes with some samples.
http://cgi.ebay.com/AKAI-MPC-1000-JJ-OS ... 2a0e6967e3

Theres some more up on ebay that look alright but these 2 really stuck out to me and the fact that their in the same state as me is a +++

Any feedback is much appreciated 8)

The first one, it has the internal ram and the newer pads, The second says pads are working but doesn't state that it the pad fix or the older shitty pads, plus it say 128 internal memory, for all you know he is not referring to the ram but the cf card. you can always purchase the jj os afterward like most of us have.

yeah it wouldnt be much to jus get the JJ os afterward, The JJ os isnt too expensive if I remember correctly,
So i'll be good with either one of em right? if anything ill prolly go with the first one because i really like the pads and im not taking a risk ram

Yea your right about that, So I guess ive come to the conclusion of getting the first one if I can win it, the price isnt too bad for it either I think,
is there anything else I would need to buy for it? because the JJ os...
Thanks a lot for all ya help men.

yeah, if you cant get the first and buy the second and it has the old school pads you'll want to buy a 180 dollar pad fix, if not they will die quickly, and not be as sensitive for drumming,......I speak from experience about the pads, i passed on the pad fix when i had the chance now i only have about 8 pads that work to chop and play on

I'd be careful with the first one too... well maybe not careful, but it seems like this is coming from a Pawn Shop or someone who doesn't know much about the machine. What concerns me a bit, is he says it has been upgraded to "128mb", but doesn't state the word "ram". But he DOES show a picture of the AKAI 128 mb CF card... so it's possible he's confused as to what the 128mb upgrade really is. He could be making the assumption that the CF card is the upgrade (which it is not). I'd ask him to clarify that issue. Besides that, looks like a good buy. I mean, you could always add the extra RAM yourself I guess... but you should make sure you know exactly what you're getting. Good luck.

One more thing... those pads on the first one are probably the newer version, judging off the black back-plate. But the actual color of the pads don't look black to me... They just look like the same color as the pads on every MPC 1000, maybe a little darker... an illusion created by the underexposed photo. The Auction title is poorly worded because it states "pads black", but what he means is the MPC is black, as opposed to the Blue/Red 1000s (which don't fetch as much money on the resale). I understand he's working with a limited number of characters in the title, but still... it's misleading.

I could be wrong though....

And just because he gave me a smart ass answer to my last post... I'm gonna have to go ahead and take some time to disagree with ol' ArKyve-31 up there, and say that the SECOND auction was more likely the one to have the 128 mb RAM upgrade. The guy in the second auction already stated that the MPC comes with a 32 mb CF card, and then he goes on to list the "128 mb internal memory" as a separate feature. Well, the dude obviously knows what a compact flash card is, and he can't be referring to the 5mb of internal flash that comes standard, therefore the "128 mb internal memory" IS referring to the RAM upgrade, I can almost guarantee it.

Sure hope they don't demote you to an "almost expert" member because of this.

Yeah I kinda did get the feeling of it coming from some type of online shop because of the ad, in the ad he did state that the memory was expanded to the 128mb so im guessing he think thats the upgrade idk. I kinda jus peeped that the pads do look similar but its probably jus a shade darker lol and I hope hes not doing any camera tricks :? , So does the mpc have a set gb?

Dude I wasn't being a smart ass, You asked about a 5k and 1k, well the 5k is still having major issues and you can get a 2500 with JJ that would be between the price of both.... I'm not worried about my status and know for damn sure it wouldn't get stripped...Go ahead and by the second one...good luck with the pad sensors

nah, bro, except the part about the pads....Thats the only thing that would have me shaky about it, You do realize the technical difference between new and old pads other than the color correct?
By IWannaApe Sun Feb 27, 2011 3:18 am
idk how to tell the difference but I do know that the older pads wear out and stop working right?, So do the black mpc 1ks automatically have the newer pads because their like a newer verison?

yes any color other than grey are newer pads, and some of the gray's aswell. see the older pads were each an individual pad like this, (look below) which is why they die fast and are not as sensitive

Then newer pads sets are like the other mpc models because they are a solid group of pads, are more sensitive, last longer and feel like like mpc pads should
