I love this lil guy

Bought my 500 on New Year's eve for $399(open item) @ Best Buy. Upgraded with the 128 RAM, OS 1.31 & a 2GB flash card. Was kinda concerned at first cause I had some of the same problems other ppl do like the low volume on the pads. Now it's all good tho after almost a couple months of just researching and messing with it.

I am very thankful that there is a forum like this because most of the helpful things I learned about the 500 came from here. The "tips and tricks not in the manual" has been my favorite thread so far and anything about drums.

Nice sheets behind it. Love the checkered pattern...What's the thread count on those babies and did you get them at bed bath and beyond?

It is the only Best Buy I know in the area that has a section dedicated to music ish. Like a small version of Guitar Center in the middle of the store.

I owned a 1000 awhile back and have been rocking a friend's 2500 for over a year. I feel I can make the 500 sound just as dope.

Exactly. It takes alot of trial and error. When I 1st bought this, was like, "what the f@#k is wrong with u?" Then just had to reflect on all my past experiences using samplers and it generally meant getting around a frustating problem.

I love mine. I had same experience. At first, WTF? Then over the years it's become like an extension of myself. I can literally use it in a dark room as I know where all the buttons are. However, I still have trouble managing my samples and files...Wish I had a work method there.

very happy with mine.I start with roland ms 1and for the same price back in the days i never feel limitate with this little beast

If more people would dig in and do some of the leg work themselves, they too would learn to love the lil bastard. But unfortunately, most people come here for a quick fix instead of reading the manual or trying and failing until they get the hang of it.. Like most successful people do.
