got a mbp and serato--rane ttm57sl--- a month or so ago. i dont think i up'd these photos, but i may have. in that case---whoops

in the photo---2 mpc 2kxl, aleses fusion 88key, tech 1200's, rane ttm57sl, yamaha 12 channel mixer, m audio delta 1010, 1 pc for PT, 1 pc used for music library and mbp used for serato only. i dont go online with any of those computers.
i did just re-arrange. i will upload those pix when i take em.

Why did you choose the pro over a normal Macbook ? For the extra couple bills I don't see that much of a difference for a serato only comp . I've been running it on my regular Macbook for almost 4 years and have never had a problem .

I ask because I'm actually about to get a new lappy this weekend to keep around just for serato .

yea, its totally overkill but i wanted a dedicated mac to run ssl with
a macbook will do absolutely fine---the macbooks dont have the ichip (macbook pro's do) which has been problematic with serato, but there is a fix for that. pc's still have not fixed the ichip problem. but you are limited with macs, moreso with the macbooks than the mbp.
plus, i wanted a bigger screen than 13 inches.

but the dual core pentium chips in the macbook, from my understanding , work the best with ssl.

Alot of older macbook pros still run duo core and core 2 duos, you can pick up a used 07=08 MBP with a 2.4ghz Cre 2 duo for round 700-100 for a 17 inch

They are Novation Dicer's..Serato controler thingies indeed

the dicers are ill.
they have 3 modes...
cue points, loop roll and auto loop.
u get 5 cue points u can set and cue in real time, and the auto loop allows u to loop in real time, the 5 buttons represent the amount of beats or bars u can loop up.
plus you can assign anything in serato to any of the 3 modes/5 buttons via midi...
but all that can be done on the ttm57 mixer so its kinda overkill. but i love em!

my grandfather gave me the silver 1200 in '97/'98 and he got it used from an auction. i looked the serial number up and found that it was manufactured in the 70's. i replaced the rca cables about 6 months ago due to a 'mod gone wrong' before my grandfather got it and it works better than ever.

1200's really are solid as a tank.

Just got the 1000, still reading the manual and whatnot but so far I'm diggin the workflow. Still waiting on some monitors, but for right now I have some 5.1 and monitoring headphones. Sorry for the blurry/darkness.

They did change, there was a very big change in 1985 (the original 70's/early 80's 1200's have a very different base) and afterwards only small changes through out their lifespan but still impressive indeed.
