what are you expecting to happen?

your question is too vague: "It's not working, what's wrong?" has dozens of possible answers.

is your computer sending any midi data or is the casio?
have you pressed any buttons or keys?
do you have speakers hooked up?
have you set midi channels to match?

be more specific

ok, now we're getting somewhere!

you hooked up a usb cable from the casio to the computer - does the casio send audio over usb? I doubt it - it's probably only midi, and MIDI IS NOT AUDIO
(read http://www.tweakheadz.com/how_to_get_st ... _midi.html )

so to sample the casio's sounds you need to use the instrument cable to connect the casio's AUDIO output to the MPC's AUDIO input (possibly via the computer, but that's not necessary), connecting them via MIDI won't help

once you've read that link about MIDI basics (if you didn't read it yet READ IT NOW, ALL OF IT) then you should understand about midi channels

to learn how to set the channel on your casio, in Logic and on your MPC, you'll need to READ THE GODDAMN MANUALS

I know you want everyone to tell you how to do it, but that's not how it works - you bought the gear, you need to put the work in, read the manuals, learn to help yourself. otherwise you're only ever going to be able to copy someone's instructions, copy their setup and copy their sound. if you want to do that, just play a CD instead of trying to make your own music

yeah i know i read the manuals but it didnt work and i was tryna basiucally double check im gonna read that link though good looking out on the info i needed ima just sample the casio for now while i read up more on the midi channels i read about htem when i read the logic pro 9 handbook but the guy at guitar center told me i could just use the instrument cable and use the mpc and the casio is that true?

as I already said, to sample the casio's sounds you don't need to touch anything to do with midi at all

NOW SEE THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THAT IS THE MPC DOESN'T TRIGGER THE SOUNDS I PLUGGED IN THE THE PIANO TO THE MPC AND THE MPC STIL LTRIES TO READ A DISK FOR SAMPLES NOW THROUGH THE MPC HOW WOULD I HAVE IT READ THE SOUNDS CABLE AND LOAD THE SOUNDS

one thing at a time

to sample the casio's sounds into the MPC you don't need the MPC to trigger them - you can play the casio keys

you could get the MPC to trigger the sounds, via midi, but you don't need to. just try to figure one thing out at a time. you've been trying since november and got nowhere, stop trying to run before you can walk

so, if what you're trying to do is sample the casio sounds, READ YOUR MANUAL. That explains how to create a new sample (and save it to disk, so you can load it again next time you turn the mpc on)

when you've recorded a sample you can assign it to the pads

but see i wanna use the mpc not the piano i just want the drums from the casio to be put on the pads of the mpc so i can make a beat with and then hit the keys on the piano to trigger some synths or piano whatever i want to go with the beat im not trying to run first lol im jsut trying to understand now i read the mpc handbook and i get what your sayign but i dont think you get where im tryna do im trying to sample sounds from my casio or my logic instruments make a beat on my mpc and then let it all sound and midi info savei n my computer

i do understand i might be frustrating at times i just wanna get something going i might wanna pick up a asr or something the casio i bought from best buy and the only reason why i got it was because i knew i could steal those sounds and use them for my mpc i know this stuff takes time and i read the instructions its just hard for osmeone who doesnt know a thing about and midi channel or midi anything to just start reading and to acknowledge what the instructions are tryign to tell me i also read the tweakheadz link u sent me and i understand what the difference is between the midi and the sound the midi is just reads what im hitting but i want the sound to play through the mpc pads now someone told me that iwould have to basically install all the sounds and make them idividual files to sample

The thing that bothers me is, I can't get a straight answer from anywhere if this casio wk200 sports "midi ports" or not. So far I've gathered that it doesn't have them and you can only transfer midi via usb. :?

That seems to be a lot of help especially for a beginner let alone a novice or advanced person (I'd take it that someone advanced would pass on this board) if they're trying to expand on using it with other pieces of equipment.

So if this is the case where you lack the physical 5 pin din connections to work with midi straight from the keyboard itself, I'd suspect you would need a usb to midi I/O cable to work with this board.

If that's not the case, then I'd get rid of this type of keyboard and grab something that has midi connections right off the bat.

I think this is the root of all of the problems.
