Yo playa, get into those manuals first then come back and share your experiences with us and we'll give you our perspective of what you need to do.

First question though...what's your intended target of using what you have and where do you wanna go with it? Do you have the ability to work with midi, let alone know anything about it?

Do you play keys...will you be strickly doing sampling only? We need to know what it is you want to do and then you can get some clear decisive answers to your questions.

I wanna us my pc, but it keeps freezing when i have more than five instruments. So i want to run all my software sounds into the mpc, build the beat, and then back to the pc for editing. Is this the right line of thinking.

If I were you, I'd fix the freezing issue first then carry on from there. What's the specs on your comp anyway?

So I take it that you don't build your own computers. It's easier than you think. You're pretty much under the threshold for running apps such as daw programs, vst's, and anything processor intensive so that's probably why your joint freezes like it does.

Most s/w will tell you the minimum specs needed to run their products, so I'd suggest upgrading as soon as you can.

By todays standards, it would be like you're running a 1940's or 50 something automobile in the new millennium.

Take care of that problem first and you can then flow with making music.
