^ Thats not Nyms invention tho, and he's not responsible for making that plugin either..
not to bash nym, just straightening it out.
and I think stuff like ableton live has that feature allready.
I guess that the scale changer wouldnt be too hard to implement on an arduino..

But still thats one of the dopest diy controllers I've ever seen and also that beat is banging :!:

btw. is there two sonars on this thing? one for velocity/cc/.. and one for pitch

the dude responsible for the scale changer is PIZ,
i already linked his website, he is a regular magician with what he can do with midi
these plugins are extremely simple, they do exactly what they say...very straightforward midi manipulation before it hits its destination instrument.

i could do this on arduino just as easily, but it wouldn't be savable w/out the expense of a hard-write medium, and also it's way nicer to just be able to load up different projects w/ scale changer vst already loaded/set to the correct scale and just play. my goal is not to try to reinvent anything that's already done better on vst - rather to create new ways of being able to play midi.

and yes there are 2 PING sensors - 1 for horizontal movement (tune) and the vertical one for CC.

I feel what you sayin'.

just thought that if somebody made controllers like these, it would be cool if there would be atleast minor/major/chromatic switch and something that you could use to set the key..

you got me intrested in making something with arduino.
-> gonna order one now B-)

cool stuff, Nym! how do those sonar sensors work and where did you get them?

all this hardware hacking stuff looks interesting but i have absolutely no knowledge in that area. it seems like it requires some real low level work to get things operating.
