studio monitors

I copped some new Behringer's off Ebay a couple of week back. 300 bucks and I've never been happier. They are loud as fvck though!

Any monitor can do... But YOU HAVE TO LEARN THEM FIRST!!!

I like my Dynaudio BM15a's

Yamaha HS series. Reasonable in price and they allow for proper mixdowns and mastering to sound proper on any platform. Be it, a club system or ear buds.

^^^Thank you, people hate on Behringer, but I also have a pair (Truths), and yeah,they're decent foreal. Alot of the other models with similar price tags have too much bass or are muddy sounding. My Behringers sparkle and give a pristine, accurate sound that compliments my 4000. Read customer feedback anywhere online; overwhemingly positive reviews. And like the Boogie man said, they are LOUD. I try to keep the volume low, I'm gonna go def messing around with them so close to my ears. If I ever upgrade it will be to 5 inches instead of 8.

I've been using KRK rokit 6 G2's for 8 months and they do the trick...Pretty inexpensive too!

IMO the best monitors in their price range.

I'm hoping to get some Adam A7X's in the next few months, all being well.

Ive been using whardale diamond pro 8 monitors for like 6 years now and theyre great for mixing, you can hear the highs mids lows everything, good for reference and mixing

At my local Samash they have a few pairs of Samson monitors that I think sound great too, I would suggest testing out a few pairs for yourself and decide what u think sounds good for your mixing.

I was reading about these and they sound (from what I've read!) like real good monitors in the range.
What do you think now you have them?

Well, I've basically stripped my studio down to the most minimal working setup I can without being restricted... got rid of the dead wood and invested in better gear, that sort of thing. I also finally bought a decent desk because I was sick of standing up to work. I'm too old for that shit!


I can now swivel my chair and everything is within arms reach.


The monitors are a revelation compared to what I've been using for the past 15 years, put it like that. They've got volume for days and the bass is fat with the right tunage. I'd also feel confident producing more dance oriented stuff on these without the need for a sub.


Probably the best £730 I have ever spent on studio gear.

Sounds like your setups how you want, must feel good. Mines still a distant dream

I had the hs50m's that I really liked but had to sell them along with a load of other things when i hit some problems, at the moment I'm using some basic hi-fi speakers I've had for about 10 years so a decent set of monitors are fighting against the 1k pad upgrade kit for next place on the list!

Going back to ordinary cheap speakers I've realised the difference it makes, I burn something to CD and play it in the car and it sounds horrible! Have to keep going between the two until it sounds alright or I get bored and give up.

Good effort on buying them, wish I could step up to them or the hr624's. One day I will.

What were you using before?

They're not ideal for serious monitoring but I've still got them hanging on the wall so I can switch between them and the Adam's.
