Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

I've got this 3min sample as a patch in my Roland Fantom XR and having trouble playing it as a sequence recorded on the MPC.
It works fine playing it through Logic on the Macbook.
It cuts short after 24 bars after loading the sequence in the MPC500.
Any help appreciated
Thanks

1. Do you have the RAM upgrade?

2. Do you have OS 1.31?

3. Does it cut short when playing, loading, recording? (what exactly happens)

4. Have you tried chopping the sample, making a few sequences and chaining them in song mode?

Thanks, I ended up cutting the large sample into smaller bits. A bit more work but goes well.
Also upgraded the OS.
I'll do some tests later on to check if the large sample cuts off while playing and post it here.

I use the setup to play backing tracks while playing live with a full rock band, I am a drummer.
I make a midi file in Logic, load it as a sequence in the MPC. The MPC functions as a hardware sequencer to trigger the samples and/or sounds saved in the Fantom.
Due to the multiple outputs on the fantom it's great to alter the mix and have a click track, all on separate outs.
Previous I used a minidisc player for this purpose.
The sample that was cutting short was one of the audio files I wanted to play as a one note sequence with a click track, 2 tracks/midi channels out of the MPC.
Any other suggestions or ideas are welcome
Cheers

There was just a slight lack of details in the first post, but I sort of get what your saying.

Good you found a work around at least.

I've noticed others having an issue at around the 24 bar mark.. Not entirely sure whats up with that though. For what I do, small chops are my thing so I don't have that issue.

Anyhow good luck! 8)
