The ASR RAM gets hot, you can remove the RAM cover and install a fan to pull the heat out.
It works.
If you want something pretty then get one of the kits at Route66.
ASR stays on for days at a time and never gets warm.

yo, is that just a regular computer fan... cuz thats what it looks like, the ones at route 66 are only for the eps and others.. the asr is not supported because of the placement of the fan... but let me know if tahts just a regular computer fan...thanx

I bought an ASR10, in mint condition last fall here in Van for $300cdn... I needed a midi controller... So that's all it's been used for... but, after reading this thread i've been inspired to start using it... :D or maybe sell it. lol

Yo that's why I put the picture up see peeps could see that it just some s**t they probably got laying around already.
It's a computer fan wired to a BOSS power supply.
Been using ASR's since they first came out, 4 total. First one was a rack. Hot as h*ll and the heat caused 2 characters in the display to fail.
2nd and 3rd were key versions same heat but fans took care out it.
4th one rack, keep as a spare, can't cool the rack without actually modifying the case.
I needed something that I could mount that would be quiet.
Route66 has been working on the ASR fan-kit for a good while, it may be finished and just not posted.

Remember if you do add a fan you want it to pull the heat out not pull air in.
Pulling air in doesn't cool as well and pulls dust in.

how many samples can you have on the asr-10 at one time. i know that it has alot less memory than the mpcs but i was wondering from someone who uses it personally if you can get a decent amount of samples on the asr-10. enought to build a melody with several patches and lay a drum beat with several different drum sounds...

I bought it when I first started this beatmakin ish last year(for only 415$ shipped) just bbecause I found out the guy who made Izzo used it (kanye).I since copped the motif es , and been keepin the ASR 10 in the closet.Im not really into samplin now, just original "keyboard" composistions.I figured it was a good thing(now) I got da ASR 10 since now thatk anue is mainstream and eveyones trying to buy it so they can be like him.Im going to put it in to a enay auctiojn maybe in a few months cause i figure itll get sol for ATLEAST 750$ based on the recent ebay eauctikns, so then I can buy bernger trtuth monitors or aleses m2k.

i thjopught that if i bought the ASR i would be main hot beats lioke kanye instantly, but it wasny like that, so thwen i started vieing forums like this aind relaized .
