Affordable Softsampler/DAW which actually records samples

I may have to sell my MPC3000 for the worst reason; I need the money.
I have been demoing software, but I always have to use multiple programs to get what I want; recording samples, chopping, sequencing, using softsynths, etc.
A lot of the software is also very expensive.

So my question is: Is there an affordable solution for this?
Things like Ableton(intro lacks major features), Maschine or Geist cost a grip.

Why not just get a S-3200XL or S-3000, these sell for next to nothing if not being given away and sequence it with a software DAW

Yeah, I've got an S2800 for parts but it still works and I've got Live Intro and have been **** around with these two, but the workflow is not exactly 'doing it' for me.
I like having everything in one place if you know what I mean.

It's a regular 3000 and has some issues; the SCSI fuse needs to be replaced and the backlight is out. I'm selling it with a foil from Midirakete, so it only needs to be soldered in.
I'm selling here in the Netherlands for 750 euros, but the highest offer I've got is 500.
It just needs to be serviced and you've got a fully functional 3000.

So you're basically trying to sell a broken 3000 for €750??!

Uhm..........a fully functional one goes for 1200/1300 euros these days.
The machine works; screen is visible, just no backlight.
The only major thing is the SCSI fuse.
The fuse can be bought for 1 euro and just has to be soldered in.
I have no soldering skills, but from the info I've gathered, these are simple soldering jobs.

So, to answer your question, yes, I'm selling a MPC3000 with some issues for 750 euros.
This is what I bought it for with the same issues last year.
What should I ask for it, then??

Ask what you want, I just didn't think the prices were so high.

Yeah prices aren't low atm.
I'm looking to sell some gear to get a 3000 at some point. Just holding out to find one at the right price in the UK.
750 euro's aint too bad.

I'm gonna sell my Korg MS02 and Roland MC4B first. Was thinking of switching my 2500 to a 3000, but I've never used a 3000 so I have to buy and try it out first.

It'd be risky for a diehard JJOS head like yourself to sell the 2500 first, that's for sure.

I was thinking the same thing. Going from JJ -> any other MPC is a HUGE step backwards in terms of workflow.

Short answer: no

Slightly longer answer. The list of SW samplers that can sample and that have built in sequencers is terribly short. Guru, Geist, BPM, and Mashchine. That's it. And Guru can only resample internally, it can't sample from your soundcard.

Maybe try to find a second hand copy of Guru or Ableton V6 or V7? Go to the marketplace forum at kvraudio.com
