This is one I haven't experienced yet an it's strange....

I'm on 2500 os2xl ver 2.14. I'll give a brief example of the problem, so I loaded just 3 programs, bass, drums an a choped up sample,

The drums work good, the bass works good but then the sample always cuts off 2 early at the end of the 4 bar loop, (the sample is not looped but chopped up) so I'm now wondering whats going on so I checked my decay settings in prog, made sure the sample was on poly and there wasn't any mute groups on(not that it would of made a difference in this case) an tried again but still the last note cuts short just before the sequence goes back to it's 1st bar. I went as far as to recording the last note I wanted to use (the one that was cutting off early) and creating a new program an then i placed the note in from an entirely new program but it still cut itself off 2 early, I then tried note on an holding the pad down, still didn't work...

By this point I faced facts an realised there was nothing I could do about it so I thoght I might as well just have fun an mess around with a bass, I then recorded a bass with tap tempo an realised that it cut off my drums which was from a completely diff program so it couldn't of possibly been a poly/mono issue....arrghhh whats going on. I tried power on plus holding delete still having problems.

has anyone else had these problems?

Mode + pad10 > truncate duration: set AS PLAYED instead of TO SEQ END.

If samples cuts of in the middle of the sequence you are overloading polyphony, probably you got to many pads set to polyphonic voice overlap. Check the AKAI manual for details of program setting.

hey, thanks for the advice but I already tried that, I tried changing duration in step edit 2 but no joy. It's weird that I'm overloading polyphony with only 3 progs and 2 were set to mono.

I think I'll just make the whole beat from scratch, could just be one of those un explainable things....

thanks

One program is enough to max the polyphony.

Check how samples are trimmed in the TRIM MODE, check the polyphony settings at the program and at the pad level, put some samples in MONO instead of STEREO in the program mode. Resample if you got layers or simults...etc

Well first of all you should check the polyphony meter in the ohter mode (pad10)

Peace

I've had the same issue, but only when the sample was set to loop.
I had the loop points maxed to the full length of the sample but it still got cut off early in the sequence.
I turned loop off the sample and then it played for the proper duration.
Poly was at about 10 btw.
