once I get comfortable in my beat making and feel like I am actually doing some justice to the MPC, I'll post a couple pics of my Orange XL SE2

hey, typically I am not a fan of those types of things on gear but maxilla, that is actually very nice.

what is that done with though? zig painties and spray paint?

I don`t know, `cause that`s not my machine. I think this one was airbrushed, it`s too clean and detailed for spray cans.....or the owner had ALOT of fun masking and spraying :D

I don't have an extensive knowledge base on beat machines like you all but I am pretty sure that customization took place long before the mpc 2000xl SE editions, people always like making their gear personal to them, everything from Chuckers to Skateboards, Rza had a custom ink job on his SP right? threw the Wu Symbol on there???

Hell if I had the money to do so, I would strip the orange paint off my case and re-do it in a more personal manner.

Anyone have experience on painting buttons?

I figure if you use prepsol then etchprime then spray then seal it should be sweet? no?

ahh okay,

to me it looks like the background is spray paint (a fume shade with some cardboard for the stripes and then a german outline for the few dots) and the piece looks like it was done in zip painties or something similar (paint markers)..

it's clean.. I like it.

I did like how the overall style of the custom 8 diagrams roland MVs looked when you stood back and looked at the machine as a piece of art... however I think functionally from the angle of the user it is too busy and I think too complex of a design especially since I dont think they relabeled the buttons.
